What to Do Before Your Appointment

Before You Come

Shave as much of the treatment area as you can prior to treatment. Try not to shave immediately before, as it can increase the potential for inflammation. This step is important to ensure the energy is absorbed by the follicle and not the hair on the surface of the skin.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Exposure to sunlight can cause your skin to become more sensitive to the light energy used in the removal process. This can put you at a higher risk of unnecessary side effects, such as hyperpigmentation, burns, or scarring. If you do need to be outside, use sunscreen that blocks UVA and UVB rays and cover up your skin. We will not be able to treat areas with active suntans or sunburns.

Do Not Tweeze or Wax

This method of hair removal can remove the hair directly from the follicle. The root is necessary to be targeted by the laser.

Post-Treatment Care

Post-Treatment Reaction

Red bumps or irritation may occur after treatment that may itch. This type of reaction may not appear in most cases, but is normal if it does and will disappear in a couple of days – after which dryness or crusting may occur. It is important not to pick or scratch any irritation that may happen in the treatment site. Should there be any discomfort in the area, you may apply ice to reduce inflammation.

Post-Treatment Aftercare

The treatment area should be moisturized periodically. When you bathe or shower, excessive exfoliation should be avoided until xxxxx
