Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which peel is right for me?
Your skin specialist will be able to analyze and address your skin concerns and condition to determine your true skin type.
What can I expect after the treatment?
Your experience may vary depending on the strength of ingredients used in your peel and the type of peel performed, however it is not uncommon to initially feel tenderness and experience some redness. Your skin will be extra sun-sensitive during this period, so it is important to protect the treated area from sun exposure. Approximately 3-5 days after treatment you may notice shedding or peeling of exfoliated skin cells, bringing forward a more rejuvenated complexion. If you don’t see visible peeling on the surface of the skin, this is okay too. Peeling will still be occurring at a cellular level.
Does it hurt?
Your skin specialist will carefully monitor your skin during treatment with regular check-ins of your comfort level. A mild “prickling” sensation that may cause discomfort is common, but treatment will be ended should you experience any sensation beyond your comfort level.
How many peels do I need to see a difference?
Treatment results vary depending on the individual and intensity of peel – some people will get desired results after just one! However, peels are best used in a series of treatments performed over several weeks and/or in conjunction with other services for optimal skin transformations.
